Robert Swanson Obituary
June 12, 1932 - April 13, 2023
Puyallup, Washington - Robert L. Swanson (90) passed April 13th, 2023, at home with his wife and family. A lifelong resident of Puyallup, Washington, he graduated from PHS in 1950. He played football for PLU before enlisting in the Air Force. Bob was stationed in Japan where he played football while in the service. After the military, he married Annabelle J. Breland on June 10, 1955. Bob ran a gas station on River Rd with his brother Harold, while earning a machinist degree at Bates Community College. He retired from The Puget Corporation in Tacoma in 1993 after approximately 34 yrs. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2224 and longtime member of the Eagles. He is survived by his wife Annabelle, son Mark (Sherri) Swanson and niece Shannon (Jim) Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Alfred Swanson, and his brothers Arthur and Harold Swanson. Graveside services will be held on 4/21/23 at 12pm followed by refreshments from 1 to 2 pm at the Puyallup VFW.
