Robert Swanson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Egizi Funeral Home on Aug. 16, 2025.
Robert N. Swanson, Sr.

On August 2, 2025, of Lady Lake, FL. Age 77. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Pulaski). Devoted father of Mary Boyle (Eric), Susan Swanson, Robert N. Swanson Jr. (Susan), and Kelly Trueland (Robert). Loving grandfather of Paige, Olivia, Emmy, Samantha, Robbie III, Autumn, Savannah, and Aubrey. Dear brother of Beverly Zane (Robert). Loved by nieces and nephews.

Robert was born in Great Falls, Montana, to Ruth and Harold Swanson. He spent his early childhood in Montana before moving to Philadelphia at the age of eight. He attended Saint Monica School through eighth grade, after which he relocated to New Jersey and graduated from Washington Township high school in 1966. Following graduation, Robert proudly served in the United States Navy for six years, he specialized in electronic engineering, and he also fought in the Vietnam war. After his military service, he pursued a career as a price analyst with DecisionOne. Then later retired and moved to Lady Lake Florida with his wife Mary.

Robert was known for his kind and generous spirit; he had a heart full of love and compassion. He had a deep passion for saltwater fishing, his boat, his dog Sport, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, Philly sports, golfing, bowling, spending quality time with family, dancing with his grandchildren, and most of all telling his wonderful stories. He also took great joy in spending time with his wife Mary going to Disney World, Universal Studios, cruises, Montana, the Ocean City boardwalk and so much more.

But above all spending time with his 4 children and 8 grandchildren was truly what he loved the most.

Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing Monday, August 11 th 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 7:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
