Robert Taylor Obituary

Robert (Bob) Eugene Taylor
10/22/1941 - 02/02/2025
Robert (Bob) Eugene Taylor graduated into Heaven's Glory on February 2, 2025 and now sits at the feet of Jesus, healed and whole forever!
Born October 22,1941 in Brownwood, Texas to Jack and Elizabeth Taylor, Bob overcame several birth physical challenges in the first decade of his life. God's provision through fine doctors and numerous surgeries enabled him to achieve many high goals. Bob's little Grandmother always said, "Robert, everything will be all right", and with her help, determination, and encouragement, he graduated from High School and later attended Howard Payne University, then Texas A & M University in College Station. He excelled in a long radio career, from being an on-air disc jockey to a successful Account Executive in Sales at KNIN, Wichita Falls, Texas, KOMA, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, KLIF in Dallas, Texas, and KYBG in Big Spring, Texas. Bob was chosen for the 1966 edition of Outstanding Young Men of Texas, the 1967 edition of Outstanding and Distinguished Personalities of the South and was honored in the 1968 edition of Who's Who in Texas. Later positions included Clayton Williams Enterprises and NTS Communications in Midland.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 12 and was an active member of First Baptist Church and East Fourth Baptist Church in Big Spring, then became a member of First Baptist Church in Midland in 2004. Bob served faithfully in the Benevolence Ministry and was so thankful for ones coming to know Jesus there.
He married the love of his life, Rozann Hunter, in 2005, and together they led an inter-denominational ministry, Agape Fellowship, in the Federal Prison in Big Spring for thirteen years. Bob's faith in Christ, and his dedicated walk with his Heavenly Father, was a huge witness to everyone who knew him! Bob and Rozann were volunteers in The President's Club, a group who served as the Chamber's recruitment and retention arm of the Midland Chamber of Commerce for several years. He was the "President's Pick" with top achiever awards, on many occasions. Bob was a top producer for NTS Communications, not only here, but also for the month of September 2006, in the State of Texas. Also active in the Texas Jaycees years ago, he was a State Director and a State Vice-President.
His younger brother David passed away in Fayetteville, Arkansas and his family has been a source of comfort and love. Missing his presence now, and anticipating our grand reunion in Heaven, include his wife Rozann in Midland, children Lauri and Jack Smith of Brady, Texas, Melani and Mike Terrill of San Angelo, Paul Brock in Kerrville, Cheri Brock of Midland, and Robert Taylor II and brother Zachary Taylor in New York; grandchildren Embre and McKenzie Smith of Highland Village, Texas, Garrett and Emily Smith of Rolla, Missouri, Rachel Brock of Kerrville, Mason Terrill of Mobile, Alabama and Megan Terrill of San Angelo, also Mckayla Taylor of New York; great grandchildren Charlotte Smith of Rolla, and Arden Smith of Highland Village, as well as other relatives, friends, and family in Christ.
A visitation will be held from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Darin Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton at 3:00p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Benevolence Department of First Baptist Church Midland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
