Robert "Bob" A. Taylor, Sr., 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Born on December 6, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Bob was raised by the late Chester and Grace (Taylor) Davis.
Bob spent many years working for the City of Lancaster, proudly serving his community by providing public transportation. He truly enjoyed being behind the wheel, meeting new people, and sharing a friendly word or a smile with everyone who crossed his path.
Bob had a kind and gentle spirit and found peace in the simple joys of life. He loved to fish and would travel near or far to spend a quiet day on the water, casting his line and soaking in God's creation. He was happiest under the warmth of the summer sun, often relaxing outside and giving thanks for another beautiful day. Bob had a sweet tooth for ice cream and never missed a chance to ask for his daughter-in-law's delicious chicken wings. He was also a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan and could often be found cheering them on with enthusiasm and laughter.
One of the greatest blessings of his life was being baptized by his son, Bobby-a moment that filled his heart with pride, gratitude, and faith. It was a true reflection of the love of Christ that guided him through his days.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Robert "Bobby" Taylor Jr. and wife, Nicole, and Marcus Taylor, both of Harrisburg; his daughter, Lena Ortiz of Denver, Colorado, his granddaughter Arianna Clay whom Bob raised, his former wives, Deborah Taylor and Patricia Taylor; his sister, Lyndal Benjamin and husband, Grover, of Georgia, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and extended family, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.
Though he will be deeply missed, his loved ones take comfort in knowing that Bob has found eternal rest and joy in the presence of his Savior.
