Barbara Ann Folks, 74, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 10, 1950, in Mechanicsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Newsome and Lena (Winn) Newsome. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Jonathan "Tom" Folks, Sr.

She attended Susquehanna Township High School before devoting her life to raising and caring for her family. Family was at the heart of everything Barbara did-she especially cherished time spent with her sisters and the many special moments shared with loved ones throughout her life.

Barbara had a wonderful sense of style and a creative spirit. She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, decorating her home, and watching the deer in her backyard. Known for her elegance and flair, she also loved fashion and had a natural gift for styling, especially with her animal prints.

She will be remembered for her grace, warmth, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.

Barbara leaves behind her 2 sons, Jonathan Folks, Jr. (wife, Jamie) and Jayonn Folks (wife, Kimberly); her 2 daughters, Lena "Nikki" Folks and Sade Brown; her 2 brothers, Donnie Ray Newsome and Sanford Newsome; her 3 sisters, Sadie Hostley, Arlinda Jackson, and Cornelia "Nellie" Moon (husband, Sylvester); 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces; and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Bacon; her brother, Lonnie Johnson; and her brother-in-law, William Hostley.

Services are pending arrangements.
