In the early hours of October 7, 2025, Dolores Dietrich Gaffney regained her sight and healthy mind when she entered into eternal rest and was reunited with her husband, the late Donald Gaffney.

Born March 5, 1934, to the late J. Arthur and Florence (Zerfing) Dietrich, Dolores grew up in Paxtang and graduated from John Harris High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Gaffney and together they had two children, James (Terie) Gaffney and Gabrielle (Todd) Sebastian. She fondly became known as "Gran" by her five grandchildren, JD, Freeman, Katie, Alan, and Chris; and her 11 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kaelyn, Abigail, Garin, Gidian, Cale, Summer, Elle, Grace, Ariya, and Marley.

Her achievements, talents and hobbies were numerous. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a Red Cross Instructor, and a Youth Leader for the United Church of Christ. She was a master seamstress, a talented pianist, water skied on the Susquehanna, shot trap, traveled abroad and was an avid fisherwoman. She was the hub of the family, hosting all the holidays and creating family traditions.
