Robert Edward Taylor, age 81, passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dalton, Texas, on March 25, 1944, to Marvin Taylor and Peggy Lampley, Robert was a man of immense work ethic and skill. He dedicated his career to commercial construction, serving for many years as a superintendent. His legacy is woven throughout Little Rock, where he oversaw the construction and renovation of many of the city's landmark buildings.

While he built structures by trade, Robert's true heart was in the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and crappie fisherman. He spent countless hours in his shop preparing for the next season. He was a master tinkerer who could build anything he set his mind to-and he was famously known for his habit of spray-painting or stenciling his name on every tool and treasure he owned. Robert was a "big personality" who never met a joke he couldn't crack, and his humor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Bettye Taylor; his three children, Ritchie Taylor, Brit Taylor, and Mysie Taylor; and his grandchildren, Britney Lloyd (James), Ashley, Mason, and Alexis. He also leaves behind three sisters, Sandra Ware, Janie Williams, and Vickie Watson. Robert held a particularly special bond with his granddaughter, Britney, his daughter-in-law, Sharon Walsh, and his niece, April Hendren, all of whom he thought of with great fondness.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:30pm with a funeral service to celebrate Robert's life to follow at 2:00pm, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, located at 2504 East Dixon Rd., Little Rock, AR.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church in honor of Robert's memory.
