Brief personal information: Robert was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Forces from 1942 to 1946. He wrote poems published in Julien's Journal, Senior Circuit - Project Concern and Little Dublin News. Robert worked at Carr-Adams Company after his discharge from service until the company's closing. He was an avid fisherman, book reader and poet. Survivors: Nieces: Carol (Jerry) Pins, Dubuque Michelle (Matthew) Knopp, Miami, OK Judy Thielen, Des Moines, IA Nephews: Joseph (Patricia) Johnson, Dubuque Gerald (Bertha) Wright, Green Bay, WI Dennis (Mary) Thielen, San Diego, CA Great nieces; great nephews; cousins Preceded in death by: His parents; 2 Sisters: Angella (Thielen) Callahan and Helen (Thielen) Wright; 1 Brother: Herman D. Thielen; 2 Nieces: Joyce (Johnson) Specht and Janet (Wright) Carrier. Memorials: A Robert A. Thielen Memorial Fund has been established.
