Robert Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferrara Colonial Mortuary - Orange on Nov. 19, 2025.
We gather today to celebrate the life and enduring spirit of Robert Keith Thompson, affectionately known to all as Bob, whose journey on this earth began on August 2, 1957, in the heart of Billings, Montana, and came to a peaceful close surrounded by his loving family in Murrieta, California, on October 2, 2025. Bob's life was a testament to the power of positivity, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Bob's formative years were spent in the scenic landscapes of Montana and the vibrant communities of Washington State. A proud graduate of Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington, Bob's passion for communication led him to Eastern Washington University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Radio and TV Broadcasting. His college days were filled with the melodies and beats of the music he loved, as he honed his craft as a DJ, dreaming of the bright lights of the entertainment business.
Bob's professional journey was marked by his dedication and commitment to excellence, which saw him rise through the ranks of the retail world. His career began at Lamonts Department Store, where for 14 years, he earned a reputation for leadership and innovation. His journey continued at Target for 19 years and concluded at Rite Aid, where after 10 years, he retired as a respected Retail Executive. Bob's work ethic and enthusiasm for his profession were an inspiration to many.
In 1990, Bob's life was forever changed when he met the love of his life, Jenifer, through mutual friends. Their love story was one for the ages, blossoming over five years of courtship and culminating in a marriage in 1996 that was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together, they celebrated over 30 years of marriage, building a family and a legacy of love.
Bob's zest for life was evident in his many interests and pursuits. A true adventurer at heart, he explored 49 of the 50 United States, with only North Dakota remaining elusive. His love for sports knew no bounds, as he cheered with fervor for football, baseball, hockey, and UFC. A man of faith, Bob found solace and strength in the words of the Bible, which he read and studied daily. His commitment to his faith was reflected in his regular church attendance and his love for Bible podcasts.
Bob's generosity was boundless, as he gave freely of his time, energy, and resources. He was a fountain of knowledge, always eager to share his wisdom and engage in meaningful conversations. His children, who he so dearly loved, benefited from his guidance and cherished the deep, engaging conversations they shared. Bob's respect for his children was mirrored in their profound respect and adoration for him.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied by his wife Jenifer, his daughters Kayliana and Kasinda, his son Isaiah, his treasured granddaughter Leilani, his mother Betty, his brothers Adrian, Steve, and Mike, and his sisters Debbie and Lori. Though preceded in death by his son Zander and his father Richard, Bob's memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
Bob Thompson's life was one marked by love, generosity, and wisdom. His story is not one of finality but one of everlasting inspiration. Let us honor his memory by living our lives with the same passion, faith, and joy that he embodied every day. Bob's legacy will forever be etched in our hearts, reminding us of the power of a life well-lived.

Yesterday

I met Bob at orientation day at Target. He was a bright and easy to know man who had a zest for life. My condolences. He was still a young man and a shame heft us so early. Peace be with you.
