Robert Tobey Obituary
Robert Darwin Tobey, 87, of Olive Branch, MS, died at home on December 24, 2025. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley Hall of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Kerry Powell will officiate.
Robert was born June 25th, 1938 in Owego, NY. He served for four years in the United States Navy and went on to retire from Kimberly-Clark Corporation after a 32-year career.
Robert made friends wherever he went. He was a member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church and an active member of his neighborhood community. He loved cards, golf, and riding around the neighborhood on his scooter with his dog and biggest fan, Chewy the Shorkie. He was known for his playful sense of humor and his deep love for his family.
Robert is survived by his beautiful wife of 35 years, Rose Tobey, and his children Debra, David, Duke, and Jim. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and Chewy.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Tobey Tobey was special and a unique individual that is for sure. His quick whit was known to all who spent time with him. Because of the wonderful Wesleyan Sunday School and our Euchre card playing group...he taught me to play... I was privileged to know this sweet friend. May he accept the love of the Father we worship as he finds his place in heaven.

What a wonderful friend Tobey was to me and others. Loved playing Rook with him and eating out after some games. He always kept you smiling and laughing. A true friend to my Dad, George Jones, Miriam Wheeler and a special place in my heart for Tobey. A true One-of a Kind!
