Robert A Tranquilli Sr.

Robert A. Tranquilli, Sr., a lifelong resident of Summit, NJ, passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 83.
He was born in Summit on October 24, 1941, to Theresa (nee Natale) and Peter Tranquilli. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Robert served overseas in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1969. His love for his country was matched only by his deep affection for his family.
Robert dedicated many years of his life to his work at the Springfield Board of Education, before his retirement. He had a passion for outdoors, especially gardening, and was known for his zest for life. Family-oriented and devoted, Robert cherished time spent with his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love, patriotism, and a devotion to living life to the fullest.
Robert is survived by his loving son, Robert Tranquilli, Jr. "Bobby" and his wife Victoria and his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra and Anthony Tranquilli, his stepson, David Salsido and stepdaughter, Lisa Salsido and their mother, Nancy Tranquilli, his sisters, Mary Appezzatto, Margaret Sangulliano, Ida Zampella and Gloria Maver, his brothers, Peter Tranquilli and Louis Pascarella and his wife Roseann and his sister-in-law, Wilma Tranquilli. Robert is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rose Prentis, and his brothers, Dominick Tranquilli and Lawrence Tranquilli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, March 7th from 5:00-8:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ. A memorial service will be held during the visitation at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private.
