WEST STEWARTSTOWN ---- Robert Florine Tratzinski, 95, of West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
He was born on June 20, 1930, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Robert Smith and Florence Tratzinski.
Robert's early life was marked by resilience and adaptability. As a foster child he grew up learning the values of hard work, humility and perseverance that would shape his entire life.
As a young man, Robert answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Korean War. He served bravely as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman with the 25th Division. He was wounded in action during combat and received an honorable discharge in 1952, earning the Purple Heart in recognition of his courage and sacrifice.
Robert built a life centered around dedication to family and an honest day's work. Over the years, he worked in a variety of trades - starting in a ketchup factory, then a shoe factory and later contributing his skills to home construction and maintenance. Eventually, he worked as both a maintenance worker and cook in several nursing home facilities.
Robert married Lorraine Irene Lincoln on July 9, 1977, in Brockton, Massachusetts. Together they built a warm and loving household and raised four children: Jean Marie, Kevin Scott, Glenn Harold and Brad Everast Tratzinski. Robert was also the proud father of Robert F., Anthony Tyrone, Daniel, Alexander and Stephen Tratzinski, from his earlier marriage to Oney Marcella Brockenbough.
In the 1980s, Robert purchased a family home in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, where his loved ones could enjoy the small-town peace and natural beauty he cherished. Though his family made their home there, Robert continued to work in Massachusetts until his retirement in the mid-1990s, a reflection of his unshakable commitment to providing for those he loved. Upon his retirement, Bob gave back to the community by serving on the Stewartstown Board of Selectmen.
Family was the center of Robert's world. He found joy in carpentry, cooking, and in the laughter of friends and family gathered together. Whether fixing something around the house, telling stories of his younger years, or offering a helping hand, Robert embodied the simple, steadfast virtues that make a life meaningful.
Those who knew Robert will remember him as a man of strength, integrity, and generosity - someone who faced every challenge with determination. His legacy lives on in the family he raised, and the lives he touched.
At this time there will be no services.
