Hilton - Robert John Trost passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born to Ruth Haschka, adopted by Carl and Margaret Trost, and loved dearly by his Aunt and Uncle, Lillian and George Grimm, who have all predeceased Robert. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Ellen Stothard Trost; his son, Matthew (Michelle) Trost; his daughter, Marcia (Jonathan) Gilman; his grandchildren, Brianna VanGraafeiland, Shawn Gilman, Isaac Trost, Connor Trost, Christopher Markle, David Trost, Jacob Gilman, and Olivia Gilman; his sister-in-law, Nora Ocque; his brother-in-law, Charles Stothard; and his nephew, Chad Stothard.

Robert was born in Wrentham, MA. He graduated from Brockport High School and became employed as the district printer at Brockport Central School, where he served for 39 years. He spent several years as a Scout leader with Pack 330 and Troop 99 in Hilton. As a member of Pearce Memorial Church, he spent his time in retirement serving on the custodial team. Robert was an enthusiastic train fan, traveling to many locations to watch trains roll along the rails. He also enjoyed his role as "Papa" to many family and friends.

Robert's Visitation will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 31st at Pearce Memorial Church prior to his Funeral Service at 11:00 am, with Interment to be held later in the spring.
