Robert B. Tucker, 75, of Clinton Corners, NY died on March 19, 2024, at Vassar Bros. Medical Center with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer.
Born May 20, 1948, in Jamaica, Queens, he was the son of Charles Tucker and Shirley (Wellbrock) Tucker Remington, both of whom predeceased him.
In 1970, Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute / NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He worked at IBM for forty-two years until his retirement. His work at IBM brought him to several Hudson Valley locations and around the world.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army reserves.
Bob was a member of the United Commercial Travelers fraternal benefit society, member and former president of the Nine Partners Lions Club, former member of the St. Joe's Men's Club (when St. Joseph's Chapel was open in Clinton Corners,) and former Assistant Scoutmaster for the Hyde Park Boy Scouts Troop #80. He was a long-standing volunteer at the Northern Dutchess Hospital Wound Care Center.
Bob enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, model railroading, and travelling the world. His final project was the 2023 Clinton Community Day Welcome Booth.
On February 21, 1976, in Newburgh, NY he married Kathleen Bardin. Kate survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brian C. Tucker, and wife, Ann Marie; daughter, Megan Bourgoin, and husband, Stephan; and grandson, Brian P. Tucker, all of Clinton Corners. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Annie Tucker.
Bob is also survived by his cousin, Barbara (West) Wood, of Delaware; sisters-in-law Jonebet Bardin, Bridget Davis, and Mary-Virginia Conklin (Stephen), and four nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM, Tuesday, March 26th, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park, NY. A prayer service will be held at 5 PM during the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the Tucker Family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the East Clinton Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1, Clinton Corners, NY 12514.
