Robert Lee "Bob" VanDeventer

Robert "Bob" Lee VanDeventer, age 47, of Delta, IA, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his home.
Bob was born on December 29, 1977, in Centerville, IA, to Billy Ray and Jane (Estlack) VanDeventer. He grew up attending country school in Moravia. Bob was very talented and was a hard worker, spending his working career in construction at Hartz Bleachers.
Bob had a love for the outdoors and could often be hunting rabbits, mushroom hunting or fishing. He enjoyed tinkering on cars or engines. He had a great sense of humor, was always there with a handshake and smile, and enjoyed visiting with his friends over a cold beer. Bob had a love for his daughter that was not always communicated; however, he spoke proudly of her and her children. He was full of adventure and often the guinea pig in the family, always going first.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Abby (Tristan Ballalatak) VanDeventer; 2 grandchildren, Lillian Ciska and Caden Ballalatak; his mother, Jane Campbell; a brother, Billy VanDeventer; 2 stepbrothers, Rob (Stephanie) Campbell and Jim (Michelle) Campbell; and a stepsister, Mendy (Lance) Edger. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billy VanDeventer and his stepfather, James Richard Campbell.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Delta Town and County Center (Old School) in Delta, IA (203 East Fourt St., Delta, IA 52550).
An open memorial has been established to the family.
