Robert Velie Obituary
Bob served for 25 years in the United States Air Force, including during the Vietnam War. After retiring from active duty, he continued his commitment to service as a civil service contractor and later as a school bus driver.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Mida Velie; his eldest daughter, Nancy Gray, her husband Darren Sr., and their children Hannah and Darren Jr.; his daughter Elaine Owens and her children William and Stella; and his brother, Richard Velie. He also shared a special bond with his dog, Sammy.
Bob will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1pm.
Funeral procession into cemetery will begin at 12:30pm at Olive Baptist Church, 103 West Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32507 (Warrington Campus).
