Robert Verhey Obituary

Robert passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Larger than life, he touched hundreds of lives, inspiring all who knew him. He graduated from the State University of New York with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management.

He lived in New York until 1978 when he relocated to Colorado for the remainder of his life. He became a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in 1980. Bobby loved to make others laugh with his unique sense of humor, he was an absolute joy to be around.  He spread love & laughter, bringing smiles to everyone around him. He was very smart and was extremely knowledgeable.   He was not afraid to be honest, but was caring, kind and generous.  A brother, uncle, the very best kind of friend.  He had a tremendous love for his family, friends & dogs. It is difficult to put into words how amazing he was.

A huge wrestling fan, Bobby was involved in wrestling most of his adult life.  He enjoyed baseball, going to the Colorado Rockies games, the Colorado Mammoth, and taking in a movie fairly often. In his younger days, he played some softball and was on the LCHS softball team. Each October weekend, he supported his church family in their annual pumpkin patch selling pumpkins to people in the neighboring community.  He would say, "Come and get your pumpkins, We'll make you a great pumpkin deal".

Knowing Bobby was a blessing and a privilege. He will be cherished in our hearts, forever our hero, and greatly missed by all.

Bobby is with the Lord and his parents, and heaven knows what he is up to with Paula B. and Maureen G. and other friends who preceded him in death.

Bobby is survived by his family and his friends.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for prayers, loving gestures.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.
