Robert Paul Wagner, Sr. passed away peacefully after a period of declining health related to pancreatic cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Robert was born in
Woodbury, New Jersey, to the late Margaret Elise Wagner and Thomas Howard Wagner.
He is survived by beloved wife, Kathleen Wagner, his sons, Robert "Rob" Wagner Jr, and Ryan Wagner, and his daughters-in law, Lorie and Kim Wagner. He was a devoted and proud Pop Pop to his three granddaughters-Riley, Reagan, and Reese, who were the light of his life. He showed his love in thoughtful, meaning ways, good grades deserve cash rewards, favorite snacks were meant to be dropped off regularly, and always cheering from the sidelines at all of their events.
Robert is also survived by his brothers, Richard Wagner and David Wagner and his wife Mary Wagner, his sister Anna Marie (Wagner) Engel and her husband, David Engel; and his stepsister Deborah Doyle Rossano and her husband, Carmen Rossano. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Wagner. He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and has many close cousins.
He is further survived by his brother-in-law, Dan Shields and Patience De Pasque and sister-in-law Mary Anne Shields Quigley and her husband Jim Quigly. He was preceded in death by his sister in laws Patricia Shields and Margie Smith Shields and her surviving husband, Robert Smith.
Robert lived a life with enthusiasm and heart. He loved boating, skiing, golfing, camping, hunting, and fishing, but had a special passion for fast cars and racing. He never met a motor that didn't deserve to go a little faster. He also did things like proudly coached his sons Little League teams, creating lasting memories for both his family and the children he coached.
Robert will be remembered for his generosity, his love of his family, his adventurous spirit, and the steady presence he was to those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the family he cherished. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind stories that will be told for generations.
