Robert A. Walker Jr., 69 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 19, 2024, at his residence under the care of Genesis Hospice.
He was born on December 26, 1954, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Robert A. Walker Sr. and Margaret (Morris) Walker. Bob is a veteran of the Navy, serving from 1973-1977. He was a member of the American Legion Post 29 and a member of The Salvation Army. Bob worked at Lear for 30 years and later at Columbia Machine for 3 years, before retiring. In his spare time, he loved watching sports. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Above all, Bob loved spending his spare time with his loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen (Thomsen) Walker; son, Robert (Jessica Hupp) Walker III; daughter, Tonya (Billy) Verkest; bonus daughters, Tiffany (Jason) Walker-Felter, Katelyn Walker; grandchildren, Melonie, Robert IV, Robert D, Tyler, Jaccob, Alisha, Alexandria, Skylar, Brooke; great-grandchildren, Carson, Natalie, Waylon, Bella; brother, Richard (Helga) Walker; sister, Debbie Walker-Worthington; special family, Anna Walker and Marcie LeGrange; numerous special friends; and special dog, Charlie.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (Morris) Walker and sister, Diane Walker.
Per Bob's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at The Salvation Army (515 Putnam Ave Zanesville, Ohio 43701) with George Bates and Les Walter officiating. A meal will be held for family and friends following services. A caring cremation will be held through DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
