Robert Bruce "Spooky" Wallace, age 79, of Indianapolis was passed into the hands of God by His son Christ Jesus after many years of cancer on January 4, 2022. Bruce lived his life by an ancient code where honor, courage, character, integrity and duty mattered above all. He was recognized with the Silver Beaver twice in his long service to Scouting as well as the Council Eagle to Eagle Award and the National President's Scoutmaster Award of Merit. Bruce served his country honorably in the US Army as a Special Forces Airborne Ranger in the XVIII Airborne Corps and 6th SFG with assignments in Turkey, Viet Nam, Laos, Grenada And Panama along with the Green Light and White Star Teams. He was a POW in 1963. He was selected to serve in the Department of Defense's Criminal Investigation Unit in 1969 until his retirement in 1990. Bruce leaves two sons and his loving wife, Karen, to carry forward his legacy of service. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Terrilee. He served on Boards for the National Asbestos Council, American Foundrymens Society, Boy Scouts of America, Indoor Air Quality Association and a host of other civic and professional organizations. He was President/CEO of Alliance Environmental Inc. until cancer forced his early retirement. Bruce has requested that his Boy Scout friends and others join him in a Last Cracker Barrel at the Eagle Scout Shelter at Bunker Hill Elementary School in Franklin Township at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th, 2022. He has requested than any contributions be sent to the attention of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation, 5931 Roft Road, San Antonio, TX 78253 in the name of Robert Bruce Wallace Shooting Sports Equipment Grant Program to Support America's Youth Shooting Sports Programs. Our family's most sincere condolences to the family of a man who lived a remarkable life. His immediate impact during his mortal probation will extend for future generations. April and I mourn his loss yet celebrate his accomplishments as we will meet again.

I met Sarg only a few years ago when I joined the shooting group at the RV park. Bruce had the unique quality of being able to strongly support what he believed in, while being able to listen to, understand, and agree with portions of opposing views that made good sense. In that way, he stood out in my mind as not only a leader, but also as a friend. Rest In Peace, my friend. You have earned the respect of all who knew you. Condolences to Karen and all of the family.

Bruce was such a wonderful man. He was instrumental in arranging and erecting a memorial plaque for my husband Dennis when he died in Arizona. I will never forget his and Karen’s kindness through a difficult time for me and my family. I wish I could be there for Karen at this very sad time but please know I am thinking of you all.
