Robert E. Walsh

Robert E. "Bob" Walsh, age 79, beloved husband of 49 years of Nancy A. (Duggan) Walsh died Monday at their home after a brief illness.
He was born in Somerville, February 20, 1944 a son of the late Albert J. and Pauline (Hale) Walsh and lived in Medford before moving to Billerica for over 36 years and eventually retiring to Englewood, FL and Nashua, NH.
Bob graduated from St. Mary's High School in Cambridge and went on to serve as a military policeman in the US Air Force before beginning a long career with the MBTA.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Jean M. Walsh of Nashua, son, Robert J. Walsh and his wife of Billerica; three beloved grandchildren, Jack, Natalie and Gabriella. Bob is also survived by his brother, William Walsh of Belgium, brothers in law Bernard Duggan of Sarasota, FL and Eugene Duggan and his wife Carol of Sarasota, FL. He was the brother of the late Katherine Mahoney and brother-in-law of the late Mary Duggan, Rita and Thomas Walsh and Mary and Thomas Manning
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, August 31, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. It being his wish all other services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, www.dana-farber.org or to American Heart Assn. www.heart.org
