Robert Earl Webb

On Monday, January 2, 2023 Robert Earl Webb, 72, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 7th at Carlisle Funeral Home, 701 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2:00pm. A private graveside committal service will be held at Pineview Cemetery following the service.
Robert was born in Edgecombe County on October 10, 1950 to Mary Louise Norris and Claudis Lane "Buddy" Webb and grew up in Pinetops, NC. Robert graduated from South Edgecombe High School in 1970. He then moved to Raleigh where worked at WakeMed for over 30 years before retiring in the late 1990's. After many years living in the Knightdale/Zebulon area of eastern Wake County, Robert moved back home to Edgecombe County almost 10 years ago. In the St. Lewis community just outside Macclesfield, Robert found joy in fellowship with his neighbors and the relationships he built while living there. Robert was known as a kind soul willing to help anyone in any way he could. He was known as a great bargain hunter and loved finding treasures at yard sales and thrift stores. But, Robert's greatest joys in life came in 2012 and 2015 when he earned the title of "Papa" to his beloved grandbabies. Robert enjoyed spending time and spoiling his grandchildren ever chance he got.
He is survived by his only son, Justin Webb (wife Lisa) of Creedmoor; two grandchildren, Reece and Sianna Webb; former wife, Debra Webb of Knightdale; brother, James "Peanut" Webb of Pinetops; three nieces, Melissa Webb Lewis (husband Scott) of Nashville, Tammy Webb of Elm City, and Lisa Fox of Elm City; two nephews, Jeffrey Webb of Crisp and Jamie Webb (wife Catherine) of Macclesfield; aunts Mamie Norris and Betsy Webb, uncles "Scrap" Norris (wife Deborah) and R. Lee Norris (wife Deloris); several cousins, and many close friends. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Lane Webb and Eddie Ray Webb; cousin Yvonne "PeeWee" Williams; and niece Ginger Webb Forehand.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Robert's memory to the American Cancer Society.
