Robert Earl Weir, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 27. 2025, while living in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
Robert was a native of Plattsburg, New York. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. Afterwards, he held a number of Management roles in the Banking and Corporate industries. Outside of work, he enjoyed growing his rose gardens and later in life, researching the families’ genealogy and reading about history and historical fiction. He looked forward to his weekly talks with his life-long friend, Art de Grandpré.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Weir; his sister, Jean Ryan; and his beloved wife, Joanna Carswell Callanan Weir.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary-Frances Billups and Anne Daniel; his sons-in-law, William A. Billups, III and Bill Daniel. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Sarah Catherine Moore and grandson, William Robert Billups.
A private interment will be held in October of 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville, NY. The family respectfully asks for memorial contributions to be made to a Catholic Charity or another humanitarian organization in Robert’s honor.
