Robert F. Willey, 49, of Sharon, MA, passed away on September 18, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sarah, and the proud father of his daughters, Hannah and Amelia, who were the greatest joys of his life. Above all else, Rob cherished his role as a father and built a family life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Born on January 8, 1976, Rob grew up in
Canton, MA. As a spirited and adventurous boy, he played baseball, basketball, and football. Known affectionately as "Squiggles" for his speed and agility on the field, he knew how to weave his way through his opponents, playing catch-me-if-you-can and carried that same boundless energy into every part of his childhood.
From family vacations at Old Orchard Beach to cookouts at Castle Island, Rob embraced life's simple joys and shared them with those around him. In 1994, he graduated from Canton High School, where he played football and formed bonds with friends that lasted a lifetime.
After high school, Rob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He checked into the 2nd Marine Division and served honorably with the 3rd Battalion 6th Marines Headquarters and Service Company, Motor Transportation Platoon. His service took him from Camp Lejeune to Guantánamo Bay and on deployments to Egypt, Kuwait, and throughout Europe during his Mediterranean float. He carried with him not only stories of his time in the Marines but also lifelong friendships.
Following his service, Rob was a commercial diver and then built a career with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and later with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where he earned the respect of colleagues for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Rob was known for his quick wit, his ability to make people laugh with a perfectly timed outrageous comment, and his gift for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud Marine, a fiercely loving father, a cherished son, brother, and uncle, and as a man whose presence brought warmth, humor, and joy to everyone around him. Rob's life story is a testament to the impact one individual can have on the world. His absence will be deeply felt, but the love he shared will continue to ripple through the lives of his family and all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by his parents, Peggy and Jerry Soucy; his brother, Frank Willey, and wife, Jillian; his sister, Melissa Geaney; his nieces and nephews, Joseph and Jake Geaney; Reggie and Terasa Willey; Lilian, Gabrielle, Elise and Julia Fichera; Owen and John Fitzgerald; Sawyer, Edith, and Leif Balsbaugh; and many extended family and friends.
