Robert "Bob" D. Wisener, 68, of West Burlington died Sunday May 11, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born on Sept. 26, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of John and Clara (Fye) Wisener. On Feb. 10, 1979, he married Susan M. Ertz-Newsom. She survives.
Bob was a graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. He worked as an ad designer for The Hawk Eye for thirty-five years and retired in 2020. Bob was a member of Burlington Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed putting together models, from cars and monsters to super heroes.
He was a talented artist and painted each model very intricately. Bob's artistic genre was vast, he could draw, paint in oil or water color. His creativity brought him much success at The Hawk Eye designing ads. When Bob wanted to relax, he would take time off from work to work on his "To Do" list or get out and mow his yard. Most of all Bob love the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Susan; four children, Tina (Bill) Cravens of Dayton, Texas, Cynthia Newsom of Iowa, Brian (Laura) Newsom of Burlington and Crystal (Paul) Neun of Omaha, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four siblings, Cheryl Judd, Raymond (Donna) Wisener, Edward Wisener and Linda (Mike) Ashford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
The memorial service for Bob will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Burlington Baptist Church with Pastor Kendall Adams officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Burlington Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends.
Inurnment will be held at Prairie Grove Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Voice of Martyrs for bibles or Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Home Health and Hospice.
