Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA 50021). A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church (2110 W. 1st St, Ankeny, IA 50023).
Robert "Bob" Dale Wissink was born December 21, 1948, in Ida Grove, Iowa to Clifford and Margaret Wissink.
Bob graduated from Denison High School and soon after joined the Navy, serving in San Diego. Following his time in the Navy, he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa where he met Ronda; they fell in love and married in 1972. They lived in Colorado, Illinois, and ultimately moved back to Iowa where they have lived in and around Ankeny for 47 years. Bob spent the most meaningful years of his career in sales, culminating in owning his own business -Lighthouse Printing, his crowning achievement professionally.
Golf was one of Bob's lifelong passions, participating in a league at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Des Moines for over 30 years, and could often be found watching the PGA on weekends. He also loved fishing and camping. Bob and Ronda shared many adventures in their campers, traveling west to national parks and throughout Iowa camping and socializing with friends and family. Another hobby was woodworking, where he fashioned many bookshelves and tables, most of which are still in use today. Some of his favorite projects were when he designed cherished toys for his grandchildren and children.
St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Ankeny was a cornerstone of Bob's life, as he and Ronda were charter members along with the children. Throughout the years, he was active in a plethora of roles including Treasurer and as a member of the Vestry, just to name a few. For several years, the church held a state-wide golf tournament for Episcopal churches of Iowa- Bob's personal vision thanks to his love of the game.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ronda, his daughter Shelly and her partner Mike, as well as his son Troy. He was a proud grandfather to Paige Waller and Drew Waller, Shelly's children. He is also survived by his brother Jerry, brother-in-law, Randy Ihry and Kathleen McCabe, and sister-in-law Robbie Ihry, and as well as nieces, a nephew, loving family and more friends than one can count.
He passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2024, surrounded by family. Many wonderful loved ones and friends were able to spend precious time with him in the previous months, weeks, and days prior -a demonstration of a beautiful and full life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, Bob's wish was for memorial contributions to be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, a community that meant so much to him throughout his life.

My name is Kathy Mauritz Engle. I just learned of Roberts passing. Robert and I graduated from Denison High School together. In fact, we walked together at graduation. His brother Jerry was to get a video of us but forgot to put film in camera but we still graduated! I am thinking and praying for you.
