Robert K. (Woo Sub) Kim, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on October 5, 1936, in Soan Junam, South Korea to the home of Nam Gook and Yang Duk Kim. After graduating from Yang Jung High School, Robert went on to complete a bachelor's degree in law from Jungang University in Seoul, South Korea. After school, he served in the Korean military for 18 months. During that time, he met the love of his life Young Kim, and they were married December 17, 1966.
In South Korea, Robert worked as a newspaper reporter and also in the government. After immigrating to the United States in 1973, Robert worked in Michigan for the Ford Motor company for 34 years and then for the city of Ann Arbor's golf course for 7 years.
Robert was a believer in Jesus and he loved to share the word of God with others. He was a faithful member of the Korean Presbyterian Church of Metro-Detroit serving as a deacon and elder for about 30 years. He later served as an elder at a new church plant the Korean Presbyterian church of East Lansing for about 2 years. Prompted by the Lord in 2016, he moved from Michigan to Kansas City with his wife to join the International House of Prayer community. Robert loved the Lord and shared his faith to many people. He especially had a compassionate heart to the broken hearted and ministered to many who were weak and poor.
Robert was a friendly, humble, kind, and wise man who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Young Kim, son Jong Kim, daughter Jami Hyun Jung Kim, son-in-law Dan Rowley, and granddaughters Danielle and Gabrielle Rowley.
