Robert Woodrow Wright Jr.

Robert Woodrow Wright Jr. son, brother, and father, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2024, from Cardiac arrest. He was 58.
He was the beloved son of Bob and Alma Wright of Wasilla, Alaska. Brother to Tina Wright Brown, Austin, Texas, and father of two boys Ryan Wright of Eugene, Oregon and Nathan Wright of Wasilla, Alaska.
Robert grew up in Payette, Idaho and there he learned the joys of upland bird hunting for pheasant, grouse and dove in the foothills of the Treasure Valley.
He graduated from Payette High School in 1983 and joined the US Army. He served his country first at Fort Leonard in Wood, Missouri, and then spent a stint in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1987.
Being stationed in Wood, Missouri was fitting because Robert learned to be a master craftsman and mason in the Army. He worked at various construction companies over the years, until he formed his own business as a Master Craftsman. He loved restoring all things wood including antiques. His belief was that wood no matter how flawed, damaged or imperfect could be restored and that wood had a forever life.
Robert moved to Alaska thirty years ago and became a proud resident of the state. Fishing for salmon, trout, and halibut. Enjoying the outdoors and the beauty Alaska had to offer.
His family, parents, sister, sons, many cousins and friends will remember Robert for his big personality, big stories and his big sense of humor.
We will miss Robert dearly and remember him as restored and moving onto his "forever life".
