Olpin Stevens Funeral Home - FillmoreRobert Warren Wright, 83, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 in Fillmore, Utah with his wife by his side. He was born December 17th, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. He was adopted by Warren Edgar Wright Jr., and Virgina Marie Shoff. He married Alta Brinkerhoff in the Salt Lake Temple on January 14th, 1966. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and cousin. He loved his family and especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Alta, in Fillmore, Warren, Las Vegas, Russell, Las Vegas, Ken (Bethany), Fillmore, Chris (Jen) Salem, Cynthia (Randal) Huntsman, North Las Vegas, Tonya Wright, Salem, and Casey Purdy, North Las Vegas, 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Roskopp, His parents Warren Edgar Wright Jr. & Virgina Marie Schoff and in-laws Lloyd & Zella Brinkeroff.
In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard out of California where he honorably served for 4 years. While in the Coast Guard, he was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He met Alta Brinkerhoff in 1965 and was sealed in the temple in January of 1966. After they were married, they lived in Ogden, UT before relocating to Clearfield, Utah where he worked as a civilian Electronic Specialist at Hill Air Force Base and later as a police officer for Clearfield Police Department. In 1972, he moved his family to Las Vegas where he joined the Teamsters Union and worked at Anderson Dairy for 25 years as a maintenance worker and retired from there. In 2016, Robert and Alta moved to Fillmore, Ut. where they currently reside. While living in Fillmore, he joined the American Legion alongside his fellow Brothers In Arms.
As a member of the church, he served faithfully in many callings. He served in the Sunday School Presidency, twice in the Bishopric and executive secretary for many years. Robert and Alta were called as service missionaries in the North Las Vegas Stake. His true love was serving in scouting. When he moved to Fillmore, he had the opportunity to continue serving in the scouting program and called as a temple worker, alongside with his wife in the Manti temple.
Robert was known for always having a smile and telling stories. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved being a licensed amateur (ham) radio operator. Every year in December he would trade his hat for a Santa hat and would wear it everywhere. He will be truly missed by his family.
The celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 290 East 500 South, Fillmore, UT Interment at the Fillmore City Cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
