Robert "Bug" Wroten Jr.

It is with great sadness that we lay to rest today Robert "Bug" Wroten Jr., at the age of 91. Bug passed away on February 9, 2026, just a few days before his 92nd birthday. He spent 26 years in the testing and trial department of Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi. After retiring, he pursued entrepreneurship, previously owning the QuickStop corner store near his home on Frederick Street, as well as a club known as Paradise Lounge. He enjoyed playing dominoes, watching western films-especially Gunsmoke-and his stories, The Young and The Restless. He loved being outdoors and cherished spending time with his family.

His strength, kindness, and resourcefulness were matched only by the love he held for others. He loved his siblings, his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren, all of whom loved their Papa deeply. He felt blessed to witness so many generations of his family, and being surrounded by them brought him joy throughout his life.

Bug leaves behind many who will forever cherish him, and today we lay him to rest among the loved ones who went before him.
