Brenda K. Davis passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in
Helena, Mississippi, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in 1944 in
Clay City, Indiana, Brenda made Helena her home in 1970, where she built a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to family. She was truly blessed with a creative spirit and found great joy in sewing for her family and loved ones, as well as decorating her home. Her talents and eye for beauty were evident in all she did.
Brenda was the Office Manager for Estabrook Lincoln Mercury for many years and later opened The Flower Gallery Florist in Hurley, Mississippi. In every role, she was known for her dedication, warmth, and care for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Maxine Mizer; her brother, Richard Mizer; and her beloved grandson, Matthew Scott Atwell.
Brenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Jack (Jacky) Davis Sr.; her children, Sandra "Sandi" (Chris) Potts, Jack (Jennifer) Davis Jr., Jefferey "Jeffro" Davis, and Shayla Davis; and her grandchildren, Brandon (Jess) Zwick, Kevin (Hayley) Zwick, Brett Davis, Lindsey (Annie) Davis, Lauren Eddins, Jaelyn Davis, Gabriel Brown, Hanna Davis, and Harley Davis. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; numerous close cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones; as well as her lifelong best friend, Hanna Brister; and her little sister (cousin), Lana Andrews.
Brenda will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort and peace in knowing she is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior. As a reflection of her faith and the quiet, personal walk she shared with the Lord, the following verses from the beloved hymn "In the Garden" are shared in her memory-
"In the Garden"
(by C. Austin Miles)
"I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known."
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Light and their amazing team for the compassionate care shown to Brenda during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mississippi Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Brenda. This organization is dedicated to advancing research toward the prevention, treatment, and cure of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, while also providing education and support for the individuals and families affected by memory loss.
