From "St. Louis brother" (Bob had a lot of brothers). I had the privilege and pleasure to work next to Bob from 1988-1992 on Red River Lock and Dam when he and Linda lived in St. Louis. My favorite project of my career. Departure was bitter sweet but we again got to work together again in 2000 on Olmsted Dam. In 2006 we had a team in the Jacob fantasy football league. We both agreed later that our continuation of the team was to talk to each other not football. He and Linda sometimes reminisce about living in St. Louis (first snow, is a memory?) It does not seem fair. What we got New Orleans: 1993 Mardi Gras where Shirley (my wife) was able to yell at Bob and he threw he beads from his Endymion float, the fabulous Cajun food from the many restaurants he took us to, showing his house slab at St. Bernard Parish after Katrina, our trip to the French Quarters, our valued but hurried visits on our return trips from Florida for the last 10 years. Too many great memories. As reality sinks in there will be no 985 area codes on my phone and a greeting, "Mr. Steve how are you doing". While I´m sad my faith kicks in I thank God that he put Bob in my life and the time we had.
