Robert L. York a creator, innovator, entrepreneur, businessman fisherman and family man with an amazing soul was born May 29th, 1949, in Vinita Oklahoma. He was married to Linda Daun York for 55 years. Robert and Linda moved to Yakima Washington from Tulsa Oklahoma in 1979. They were each other's one true love, having been together since they were 15. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 9 years ago and he took her under his wing till the day she passed July 21st, 2023. Robert at the age of 75 greeted his wife Linda with open arms in his home Thursday June 13th with his family by his side. The love they had transcended a lifetime and created a legacy. He was the brother of Alice Marie Kaase from Tulsa Oklahoma and survived by his 3 kids Daun Garcia, Marty York and Jennifer York. His 5 grandkids Tyler York, Cassandra and Alicia Garcia, Rheanna and Ryker Haney. And 2 great grandkids Jayden and Aubrey York. all from Yakima. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Daun York and parents Anna Pauline Crosswhite and William Clayton York. Bob was a fountain of knowledge that had a knack for making everyone he talked to feel loved and understood. He had the ability to talk to someone he just met and make them feel comfortable. He was a father figure to many. He was the man of analogies and had an amazing sense of humor. His laugh was contagious, and his humor kept everyone laughing till the very end. He and his wife created the business York's Exterminating and were the owners for 39 years. He had a passion and incredible knowledge for insects. He was the man of speaking! He's done hundreds of speeches all over, educating colleges, schools, hospitals and occasional news and radio stations. He had the ability to get up in front of hundreds of people for his presentations on termites and talk so long they would gracefully cut him off. His knowledge was never ending. He was an incredible businessman, impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands of people throughout his career. He also loved TikTok, creating new things and perfecting them such as his bed bug posters, paper weights, smoked fish/ cheese/nuts and fish dip. He even helped invent slinky weights for fishing and was very meticulous about brining salmon eggs to make sure he had the best bait around. Bob was an amazing fisherman which was his other love, passion and hobby. His favorite thing to do was go fishing on the Klickitat River in his drift boat June 1st till October. Bob and Linda would run the business all week then go fishing every weekend on the Klickitat. He was the king of fishing. He was even featured on YouTube videos and the Sportsman Magazine on fishing for fall Chinooks. He knew and perfected all the tricks and he loved to share his knowledge. His knowledge and words of wisdom will be imprinted on his family, friends and anyone that interacted with him. Robert's soul, knowledge, wisdom, drive, caring personality and love will be carried through our hearts forever and always. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 8th at the York residence. Further updates will be announced on Facebook.
