Robert Zeigler Obituary
1934-2026
Cottonwood Heights, UT-Bob Zeigler (91) passed away of natural causes on January 2, 2026, in the arms of his beloved wife of 68 years, Anne. Bob was born and raised in South Dakota, and graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines as an Engineer.
In 1956 his love of skiing and a job with Thiokol brought him to Utah where he met Anne on the single chairlift at Alta. They started the Beaver Mountain ski school, and later taught skiing at Snowbasin,Solitude and Snowbird on the weekends while continuing to work full time. " Big Hole Bobby" excelled at his adventures! He loved skiing, kayaking, camping, fishing, golf and traveling as well as gardening and tinkering around the house. He started his own successful business, Zeigler Engineering Sales, and was known as a hard working and honest businessman. Bob is survived by his wife Anne, daughters Wendy (Jamie Longe), Cindy Rogers, and Heidi (Karl Van Calcar) as well as grandchildren Nick (Kate) and Alex Longe, Keenan and Calder Rogers, Anders and Greta Van Calcar. A celebration of life will be held in April. In honor of Bob, please consider a donation to UtahOpenLands.org or AmericanWhitewater.org.
