Robert G. Zogg, 88, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at home.
Private services will be held with burial at Coal Valley Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley.
Robert Glenn Zogg was born October 21, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Charles “Hack” and Mona Bernice (Mucha) Zogg. He married Ruth Dudley on December 9, 1957, in Davenport. The couple was married 52 years and had three sons together prior to her passing on February 10, 2010. He later married Doris (Faso) Cleary on May 23, 2012, in Rock Island, Illinois.
Bob spent his career working at Geifman Food Store in Rock Island. In retirement, he worked for Ruan Transportation. He enjoyed building things and being outdoors, especially fishing, camping and hunting. He also loved car racing and spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Doris; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike (Vicky) Zogg of New Liberty, Iowa, Patrick “Brian” (Julie) Zogg of Davenport, and Brad (Brenda) Zogg of Blue Grass, Iowa; grandchildren, Chris (Alex Fishline) Zogg, Jennifer (Ben) Wilson, Matthew (Kaci) Zogg, Mitchell Zogg, Molly (Cory) Adair, and William Zogg; siblings, Charles “Dale” Zogg of Princeton, Iowa, Nadine Hurst of Fillmore, Illinois, Lauraine Kludy of Mesa, Arizona, Richard “Dick” Zogg of Donahue, Iowa, Mona Jean “Jeannie” Cryer of Bettendorf, Linda McKillip of Bettendorf, and Ronald “Ron” Zogg of Florida; his step-children, Thomas Cleary of Moline, Michael (Rhonda) Cleary of Florida, and Patrick (Lorie) Cleary of Moline; step-grandchildren, Adam and Matthew Cleary; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Zogg; his granddaughter, Kellie Zogg; step-daughter, Kathleen Cleary; brothers-in-law, Neal Kludy, Jerry Cryer, Robert McKillip, and Joe Hurst; and sisters-in-law, Georgia Zogg, and Judy Zogg.
