LAGRANGE - Robert Joseph Zynda (the Polish Prince), of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at the age of 89.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Andrew and Mary (Leuanduski) Zynda, on July 5, 1934.
He graduated from Southern Florida College, in Lakeland, Florida, where he met his future bride, Patricia Essenberg.
After graduation, he worked in retail for more than 40 years. After retirement, he continued to wheel and deal in retail, selling merchandise in mall kiosks.
He and Patricia spent many wonderful winter months in Key Largo, Florida. Bob was never happier than when he was out on the links, chasing that little white ball.
Bob is survived by his children, Robin (Scott) Zynda-Patrick, of Billings, Montana, Kris (Fred) Treadwell, of LaGrange, Indiana, and Zane (Kelly) Zynda, of Kernersville, North Carolina; former son-in-law, Monty (Susan Burger) Strawser, of LaGrange, Indiana; sister-in-law, Marilyn Zynda, of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Johanna (Jesse) Bennett, Benjamin (Elisia Wells) Strawser, Landon Strawser, Zachary Zynda, Alexandra (Travis) Holden, and Patrick (Mallory) Zynda; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Charlotte Strawser, Theo Bennett, Josie Zynda and Charlie Mae Holden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary; wife, Patricia; sisters, Florence (Bill) Weskerna and Virgina (Ted) Maxey; brothers, Ed (Rita) Zynda, Ray (Jeanne) Zynda and Bill (Marilyn) Zynda.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
