Roberta Allendorf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frary Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Tupper Lake on May 16, 2025.
Roberta Marion Allendorf, 90, of Tupper Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, just days before her 91st birthday.
Born on May 13, 1934, in Tupper Lake, NY, Roberta was the daughter of Clifton Mandigo Sr. and Louise Whalen Mandigo. She was a proud graduate of Conifer Central School and spent her early adult years working as a nanny in New York City, where she cared for children with a deep sense of patience and devotion.
Later in life, Roberta dedicated herself to caring for her own family, serving as the primary caregiver for both her father and her uncle. She married the love of her life, William Allendorf, in 1983. They shared 26 years of marriage until William's passing in 2009.
Roberta was a devoted housewife whose love for her family was unwavering. She found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of Merrin Rousseau and Mariah Mandigo, and she delighted in the laughter and energy of her great-grandchildren, Lena, Luey, and Lane.
A woman of simple pleasures, Roberta adored gardening, mowing the lawn, and shopping. Her green thumb was evident in the flowers that bloomed in her yard, and her independence and strength showed in her love of outdoor work. She had a quiet but joyful spirit, and her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
Roberta is survived by her beloved son, Greg Mandigo of Conifer; her grandchildren, Merrin Rousseau and Mariah Mandigo; and her great-grandchildren, Lena, Luey, and Lane.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her nurturing heart, steadfast devotion to family, and the gentle joy she brought into everyday life.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the ICU and 3rd Floor nurses at Adirondack Medical Center for their compassionate and attentive care during Roberta's final days. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberta's memory to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad, 169 Main St, Tupper Lake, NY 12986. To send flowers to the family of Roberta, please visit our floral store.
