Roberta M Avery

Roberta M. Avery, 87, of Hutchinson, died December 3, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born January 22, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Lee and Esther (Goff) Totten.

On November 6, 1951, Roberta married Robert Avery in Hutchinson. They shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before his death on January 28, 2012.

Roberta was co-owner and worked at Memory Lane Antiques for many years. She was a lifelong homemaker who poured love into her children and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cherished by her family, Roberta was affectionately known as the "best grandma ever," proof of the warmth and love she brought to their lives.

Roberta is survived by her: son, Scott (Denise) Avery and daughter, Valerie Avery (Rick Greathouse), all of Hutchinson; brother, Charles Goff of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Shree Avery; beloved grandchildren, Chris, Catherine, Phillip, Becky, and Amy; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her: parents; husband, Robert Avery; children, Tony Avery and David Avery; and step-grandson, Josh Borders.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church, 4815 E. 4th Ave. Hutchinson, with Pastor Brian Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.
