Roberta Limerick Blades, 89, of Glen Burnie, passed away at Pear Tree Assisted Living on January 31, 2025. She was born in Baltimore to the late Robert V. and Catherine A. Limerick. She worked as an administrative assistant with Northrop Grumman, retiring after many years of service. Throughout her life, she was an active community member, participating in organizations such as the Ferndale Community Club, Now or Never Club and the Ocean City Elk Lodge. Bert loved spending time with her late husband and family, having a good time and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and making special memories during trips to their beach house in Ocean City. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Norman C. Blades Sr; loving son, Norman C. Blades Jr.; and her siblings, June Pilli, Nancy Silk, Robert Limerick Jr. and Joseph Limerick.
Bert is survived by her loving son, Michael K. Blades and his wife, Kim; cherished grandchildren, Shannon Blades, Brent Blades and his wife, Kelli, Tracey Blades, Bradley Blades and his wife, Leanne, and Kelsey Blades; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jayden, Sonny and Brian Mullinix, Madeline and Annabelle Blades, Emilee Blades and Baylea Blades.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, Feb. 7th, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 10 am, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Loudon Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org
