Roberta Cosker Obituary

Roberta Bartlett Cosker, 81, of Windsor, beloved wife for 64 years of the late Kenneth M. Cosker, Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at her home. Born in Hartford on March 2, 1941, daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Swistak) Bartlett, she was raised in Windsor and attended Windsor Public Schools. Roberta met Ken as a young woman, the couple married and had four children. She loved being a mother and was always supportive of her family. She enjoyed working from home as the bookkeeper for Clearview Window Cleaning Company, her husband's business. Later, she took a position as office manager for Modern School Supplies where she stayed until her retirement. She had a close bond with her cousins, Eleanor Bourdon, Gen Drake, and Judy Hayden. They spent many memorable summers with their families at Point O' Woods Beach in South Lyme, CT. On Fridays, she always looked forward to breakfast with them at Dom's Broad Street Eatery in Windsor. She loved playing the slots and made many trips to Mohegan Sun with family and friends. Most of all, Roberta will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking for family holidays and get-togethers. Roberta's selfless nature, sense of humor and generosity will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves three children, Kenneth Cosker, Jr. and his husband Robert Patton of Santa Cruz, CA, Kimberly Lapointe of Windsor Locks, and Donna Jones and her husband Daryl of Thomasville, GA; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Cosker of Windsor; her sister, Carol DeGregorio and her husband Carmine of Islamorada, FL; six grandchildren, Richard Lapointe and his wife Kaitlinn, Lauren Janusonis and her husband Joseph, Robert Cosker, Jr., Marlee Jones, Annslee Mullins and her husband Matthew, and Zachary Jones; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Everett Lapointe; close family friend, Carlos Raposa, and neighbors Judy Cosgrove and Sylvia Smith. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert Francis Cosker, Sr., and a brother, Robert Bartlett. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, December 10th from 11 a.m-12 Noon, followed by a memorial service at 12 Noon, in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
