Her loving and appreciative family is grieved to announce the passing of their matriarch, Roberta Lorraine Jenness (Bradley), on October 11, 2025. That day, when heaven gained an angel, the world lost a bright and shining light. Roberta, known as Bobbie to all of her friends, was born on January 25,1937 to Stanley and Persis Bradley in Malden, Massachusetts. It was here that she met and married her beloved husband, Richard Elwyn Jenness, whom she, sadly, lost in 2017 after an amazing sixty-one years of blissful marriage. She is also predeceased by her two sisters, Joan Amico and Shirley Bradley, while she is survived by her two brothers, David and Peter. She is also survived by all of her six children: Rusty and wife Cheryl, Randy and wife Brenda, Ronny and wife Heather, Ray and wife Donna, daughter Robin, and, lastly, Ricky and wife Kerry. She also leaves six grandchildren along with eleven great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and their children.
Although Mom was busy keeping a house and raising six children, surely the most noble of professions, she also found time to volunteer with many organizations. Hospitals, Mental Health and literacy groups all benefited from her largesse. Above all, though was her work with the church.
Mom lived the life of a dedicated and passionate Christian, starting from her earliest years. Throughout her adult life, she remained engaged with every church of which she was a member; teaching, singing, joining in fellowship with various ladies groups, and performing various administrative duties in each congregation. Of course, to our great benefit, she also shepherded her family to a life of Christian values and dedication. As a result, we have all been guaranteed the opportunity to meet once again in God's promised paradise.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Prudence Memorial Park, 097 Hornbine Avenue, Prudence Island, Rhode Island.
A Celebration of Bobbie's life will be celebrated at a later date in 2026, and will be announced by the family.
