Roberta Jochim Obituary

Roberta worked as a school secretary. She was a member of Santa Claus Legion Auxiliary, a former 4-H Leader and past Board Member of North Spencer County Community Action Center. Roberta belonged to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mary Help of Christians Chruch. Roberta along with her husband, William were recipients of the Simon Brute' Award.
Roberta is survived by two sons, Stan (LeAnn) Jochim and Sam (Karen) Jochim all of Mariah Hill; one daughter, Sandy Dilger of Santa Claus (companion Ron Legg); one sister, Norma Sonderman of Lebanon, IN; 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Jochim; 2 sisters, Ruth Salzman and Mildred Striewe; son in-law, Herb Dilger and a great-grandson, Isaac Miller.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 20th at 10:00 AM CT in Mary Help of Christians Church, Mariah Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday August 19th from 4-7:00 PM CT at the church and also on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 AM CT until time of services.
In lieu of gifts, memorial contributions may be made to IGM Music Matters Foundation, Mariah Hilf Foundation, North Spencer Community Action Center or St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Forty-five years ago when our family moved back to this area from California, Roberta played a vital role as the school secretary in making the transition to a new school much easier for our children. We are forever indebted to her kindness and angelic support. Roberta and my mother had been neighbors as children. We continued the friendship with many conversations before and after Mass down through the years. Her smile was always a Blessing. I am looking forward to a reunion with her in eternity.

Sandy, Stan & Sam, I'm so sorry to read the news about your Mother. I always enjoyed her sense of humor and her beautiful smile. I'm so glad I got to see her a few weeks ago. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
