Roberta Ann Justice
of Arlington Heights, IL
Roberta Ann Justice, 87, was born December 1, 1936, in Yankton, South Dakota to Joseph and Gerda (nee Christensen) Madson. She died Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Roberta was a registered nurse with a specialty in psychiatric care. She was employed with Elmwood Park Elementary School District 401 for many years while her children were in school. Later in her career she transitioned to Hines Veterans Administration Hospital where she used her psychiatric specialty before retiring in 1994.
Along with her dedication to nursing, Roberta had a passion for supporting people struggling with mental health issues; her goal was to enable them to live to their fullest potential. Roberta will be remembered for her loving dedication to her daughters, grandchildren, and her friends. In Roberta's world, that friendship also carried over to her faithful canine companions.
She is survived by her children, Eileen (Mark) Magnuson and Amy (Richard Irvine) Justice; her grandchildren, Kyle Magnuson, Sara (Drew) Engelking, Claire Magnuson, Joshua Irvine and Madson Irvine, her dear friend, Maryann Krawczyk, and her beloved dogs Sam, Buddy and Taffy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Casey; her parents; and her brother Robert Madson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of a Celebration of Roberta's life at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Buddy Foundation in Arlington Heights.
