Roberta Jean Lenfers, 80, recently of Riverview, FL and originally of Evansville, IN, passed away in Brandon, FL on June 3rd, 2025.
Roberta was born in Evansville, IN on July 20, 1944, to loving parents Robert and Christine McCubbin. She graduated from Central High School in Evansville. Roberta was a US Army veteran and later transitioned to a fulfilling career with the Evansville Police Department’s personnel office. Serving her community, Roberta maintained a food pantry, taught English as a second language, crocheted blankets for memory care and assisted living facilities, and worked for Meals on Wheels and other charities. Roberta was also a music lover - she was part of her church choir, and served as a musician, favoring the piano, in her Daughters of the Nile chapter.
Roberta was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Powers and second husband Edward “Leonard” Lenfers. Roberta is survived by her beloved daughter, Sandra Miles, granddaughters Kathleen, Elisabeth and Rachel, and great grandchildren Anna, Amelia, and Ramon.
Funeral Service and Visitation will be held in Roberta’s honor on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Meyer Chapel 100 E Columbia Street Evansville, IN.
Condolences may be made to Roberta’s family on the Titzer Family Funeral Homes’ website.
Charitable donations may be made in Roberta’s memory to Arbor Day Foundation or to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
