Roberta Lee Martus, 96, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Raleigh Center following a long illness.
Born April 5, 1928 at Mohegan, WV she was a daughter of the late Homer P. and Myrtle M. (Shoemaker) Brenaman.
“Ma” was a homemaker and was kind and generous to all she met. She loved music and enjoyed singing. Ma was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas P. and Mark P. Martus Sr.; one grandson, Mark Martus Jr.; one brother, Homer P. “Pat” Brenaman and one sister, Elsie M. Buckman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Donald George Martus Sr.; five children, Donald George Martus Jr. and wife Mari Reyes, Linda A. Martus, Amy E. Angell and husband James M. “Mickey,” Christopher Joseph Martus Sr. and wife Ann, and Cynthia Marie Martus and fiancé Nathan Caspers; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
At her request her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
