Roberta Doris McMullen

Roberta Doris Wyatt was born in Hughes County, Oklahoma on September 12, 1929 to Millard Wyatt and Jewel (Griggs) Wyatt. She and her mom and dad moved frequently at times living in California, but mostly in the Hughes County area. She passed away March 19th, 2026 at Heritage Village Nursing Home.
She married James Ervin McMullen on November 3, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. They were married 57 years at his passing in 2003. They had three children, Rita, Janie and Danny and made their home 2 miles north of Horntown for over 50 years. She worked at Lilliam Russell for several years until the factory closed.
Mom loved her family and was preceded in death by most of them. She loved to travel probably the happiest time of her life was when she and dad, and her sister, Lois and her husband traveled for several years to various states always on gambling expeditions. When Dad died, she often accompanied Rita and Jack on their gambling jaunts. Anyone who knew her, knew she loved the casinos and especially the "Lucky Duck" machine which she was able to enjoy up to about a year ago.
She loved gardening, flowers especially, and in her younger years was a great cook. She loved to have her family around the table and she counted on having a big domino game afterward.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James, daughter Rita Ballew and Rita's husband Jack; granddaughter Ami Caudill; great grandson Joey Madden; sisters, Myrtle Price Lucas and Lois Baker Compston; daughter-in- law Linda McMullen, in addition to several other family members.
Roberta is survived by her daughter Janie James and husband Lary of Mounds, OK, son Danny McMullen of Horntown; grandchildren Jeff Madden, Cory Madden and wife Erica, Stephani Fisher of Allen, OK, Monte Bryant and wife Tami of Catoosa; Lisa Holt, eleven great grandchildren including Cristi Carpenter and husband Clint and five great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Heritage Village Nursing Home for all the love and compassion shown to our mom in her time there. We wish we could name everyone but they all know who they are. Also, thanks to Vital Caring Hospice for their support.
