Roberta Morse Kellogg

Hanover, NH - Roberta Morse Kellogg, 91, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on the evening of Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Hanover Terrace. She was born in 1932 on Christmas day to Wendell P. and Hilma (Bishop) Morse in Readsboro, VT. Raised in Whitingham, Vermont, she graduated from Whitingham High School, as well as Berkshire Business College located in Pittsfield, MA.

Roberta married Lee F. Kellogg, Jr. in May 1954, lived in Westfield, MA raising three sons and a daughter. In 1965, they moved to Newport, VT operated Lake Memphremagog Park Campground and Top Deck Restaurant until March 1974. They were able to give their children the most memorable childhood growing up on Lake Memphremagog.

Roberta moved to the Upper Valley in 1978. Worked as a secretary at Dartmouth Medical School then the Norwich law firm (DesMeules, Olmstead and Ostler) until retirement.

She became a member of the Vermont Tres Dias Community in 1990 and joined the United Church of South Royalton in 1994.

Following the sale of her home she started attending Valley Bible Church in White River Junction, VT.

She walked frequently alone or with others, on back roads, woodland trails, having a deep love for the outdoors. She had an extensive music appreciation. Hobbies included flower gardening, sketching, reading, attending concerts, pot luck or church suppers. She enjoyed the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous during her 40 years of sobriety.

Especially liked living beside the White River for 24 ½ years along with the special visits to the seashore. Up until the end, Roberta was able to see the beauty and grace in everything around her, stopping at every flower she came across to admire it. She also held onto her sense of humor and could see the light in every situation.

She is survived by four children, Daniel J. Kellogg of Sneads Ferry, NC, Dean E. Kellogg and wife Natasha of Peacham, VT, David L. Kellogg and wife Judy of Chelsea, ME, Doralie M. Stanley and husband Dean of East Thetford, VT; along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eugene L. Morse and his wife Joan, as well as her former husband, Lee F. Kellogg Jr.

Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. A service will be held at the Valley Bible Church in White River Junction, VT on Thursday September 12, 2024, at 11AM. Interment will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT at 3PM.

Memorial donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy in Vermont or the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Condolences may be shared with her family through an online guest book at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
