Roberta Ann Owens Yancey

Roberta Ann Owens Yancey, age 85 of Johnson City (formerly of Dyer), Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2025. She was the daughter of Toy and Ruth Owens, of Dyer, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Yancey will be conducted on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery, in Dyer, TN.

Roberta was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She attended First Assembly of God in Dyer, TN for more than twenty years. She was a tireless worker in the army of God.

She was married to Floyd Jeffery Yancey for 64 ½ years. Roberta loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Toy and Ruth Owens; sister, Helen Sims; and granddaughter, Jordan Dwomick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jeff Yancey, of the home; daughter, Lesa Yancey Dwomick (Ted) of Gray, TN; son, Jay Yancey (Sharon) of Piperton, TN; and two granddaughters, Jessica Dwomick (Micah), and Julia Yancey of California.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Yancey’s memory to the Gideons.

Visitation with family and friends will begin at 12PM and continue until service time at 2PM, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
