Roberta Pensoneau Obituary

Roberta Marie Pensoneau, 79, of Aztec, NM, passed away on Monday, June 27th, 2022. She was born on October 19th, 1942, in Malden, MA. She was the daughter of the late John F. Hennessy and Geraldine (Howard) Hennessy. Roberta is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph R. Pensoneau, children Mark Pensoneau (Pam) of Shawnee, OK, and Shawn Pensoneau (Brandi), and granddaughter, Sophia of Alexandria, VA. She leaves behind three siblings in Virginia, Jeannie Heflin, Rosemary Inoue, Hugh Hennessy, and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Hilaire McKenzie of Hingham, MA. Roberta enjoyed a long career as a federal employee serving multiple agencies in several states, retiring from the Bureau of Land Management in Durango, Colorado, in 1995. She lived in the southwest part of the country most of her adult life, including the last 27 in Aztec, NM. Roberta was a friend to many, always on the move, and enjoyed writing letters to friends, family, and loved ones. Roberta was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed a trip to Ireland to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. She treasured spending time in Dublin, County Cork and the city of Galway. After retirement, she and her husband traveled the country, made many friends, and made many memories. Always up for an adventure, she and her husband were referred to as the Road Warriors by family and friends. Roberta's family will plan a celebration of life some time this year.
