Roberta Lynn Robey, née Huffmaster, passed away in her sleep in the morning of February 1, 2026, aged 84. Born in Michigan and having lived in many places in the US, she lived in Maryland for the last 42 years of her life. Having earned her Bachelor’s in 1963 and Master’s in 1992, Roberta held a number of positions, such as editor, science writer, professional training specialist. She retired in 2007.
She is survived by her son, William Robey, her sisters Bonnie Honda, Ginnie Madaras, Lorry Risberg, her nieces Joanne Rickert and Lisa Heiserman, her nephews Tony Risberg and Brian Vaught, and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Robey and her son James Robey, whom she now joins. Roberta was well known as an avid reader, a dependably sharp wit, and a glow in the day of anyone she met. She will be dearly missed by more people than can ever be counted.
